In 2016, US Lacrosse, the national governing body for men’s and women’s lacrosse, adopted a new youth player segmentation policy to help ensure player safety, competitive fairness and a consistent experience for youth lacrosse.

New Tampa Lacrosse Club and the Florida Gulf Coast Lacrosse League adopted these changes effective September 1, 2016 for the 2017 season and beyond, agreeing to teams at 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U for both boys and girls.  Final teams fielded and structure for any NTLC Rec season will always be determined by number of registrants in each age group.

Note:  Florida Gulf Coast Lacrosse League has determined that participants may play for the 14U team if they miss the maximum age cutoff ONLY if they are currently in 8th grade.  No high school students may play for the New Tampa Lacrosse Raiders during the Spring Rec season.
